The supporters of Baiazinha FC booed when Matapagipe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Mineiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Paulo Faustino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Washington Toscano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Pedro Paulo Faustino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Pedro Paulo Faustino came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Baiazinha FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Paulo Faustino couldn't finish the play. After 34 played minutes Baiazinha FC got a freekick which was hit by Gil Dante. Wiliam Rossi hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. 40 minutes in the game, Zé Roberto Neto dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Washington Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovani Sena in the 42nd minute of play. Baiazinha FC's Pedro Paulo Faustino got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 80 played minutes, Baiazinha FC's Luís Fábio Vergílio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Washington Toscano came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Baiazinha FC reached it. Pedro Paulo Faustino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
