The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Consuelo's Arlindo Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raí Dias in the 5th minute of play. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by Xonim's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ian Amaral was slow to take the kick. During this time Consuelo's players had a chance to rest. After 13 minutes, Acácio Moura mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Consuelo and the Xonim players grew even worse after the yellow card. Arlindo Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raí Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. If Telmo Bezerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Carlos Trancoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Xonim's Hamílton Leme got a free kick in the 37th minute. Clemente Zonta didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Consuelo's Telmo Bezerra shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Consuelo's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Cauã Fontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Clemente Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Cauã Fontes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Consuelo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Cauã Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Consuelo's supporters rose to their feet, but Cauã Fontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clemente Zonta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Consuelo's Arlindo Barbosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Consuelo from getting a goal against them. Teodoro de Barros blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Clemente Zonta having to make a save. Consuelo's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
