In the 3rd minute Inácio Teles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Peixoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Coreau's Noel de Sena got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Coreau's Augusto Peixoto got control of the ball when Glauco Silveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Noel de Sena's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roberto Negri was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Cléber Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Negri having to interfere. In the 20thth minute of the game Noel de Sena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jucuri's Roberto Negri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 22nd minute, Oscar Palmeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Coreau's Noel de Sena in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jucuri's goalie prevented a goal. Roberto Negri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléber Pereira in the 26th minute of play. After 27 minutes, Armando Lopez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jucuri and the Coreau players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Jucuri's Armando Lopez got a free kick in the 27th minute. The supporters of Coreau booed when Jucuri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Lopez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jucuri's Roberto Negri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel de Sena in the 30th minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Jucuri's goal looked a bit too open when Cléber Pereira came free, but Roberto Negri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Coreau's zone, Glauco Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Peixoto came out of the goal and Glauco Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the game, Cléber Pereira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Roberto Negri was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cléber Pereira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Noel de Sena succeeded in the game's 43rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Inácio Teles struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Augusto Peixoto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jucuri. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Inácio Teles was the one to do the kick off. Augusto Peixoto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Glauco Silveira went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After 54 played minutes Jucuri got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Azevedo. Augusto Peixoto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Glauco Silveira's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Coreau's Augusto Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inácio Teles in the 60th minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Augusto Peixoto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Coreau's zone, Inácio Teles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Peixoto came out of the goal and Inácio Teles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 78 minutes, Glauco Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jucuri's supporters crossed their fingers, but Glauco Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 80 minutes, Marcus Azevedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jucuri and the Coreau players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Jucuri's Marcus Azevedo got a free kick in the 80th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cléber Pereira got free with Roberto Negri in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Glauco Silveira might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Augusto Peixoto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Glauco Silveira ran back to his position shaking his head. Augusto Peixoto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Glauco Silveira in the 95th minute of play. Coreau were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Jucuri's much stronger midfield.
