An unexpectedly hard shot by Tales Matos in the 4th minute of play forced Cervinho's goalkeeper Geovânio Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adelino Medeiros made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Tiago Mota sent off a good shot on target. In the 36th minute, Tales Matos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cascavel SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Tiago Mota's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adelino Medeiros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Tiago Mota could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Adelino Medeiros made a huge save. After the first half Cascavel SC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tales Matos to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Aírton Toledo fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 57 minutes into the match, Tiago Mota notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Cascavel SC's Adelino Medeiros. Adelino Medeiros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Adelino Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vágner Coutinho in the 65th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tales Matos in the 68th minute of play forced Cervinho's goalkeeper Geovânio Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cervinho's Tiago Mota got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Tiago Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When David Queiroz fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cascavel SC's protests and gave David Queiroz a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cervinho booed when Cascavel SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aírton Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Geovânio Perez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 96 minutes, Aírton Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cascavel SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aírton Toledo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Cascavel SC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
