Ulysses Macedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yuri Oliveira in the 3rd minute of the match. Yuri Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Macedo having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Geovani Simões got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ulysses Macedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jarbas da Silveira's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. The audience was convinced that Valério Tande's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Virgílio Cearense was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. If Bebeto Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valério Tande recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bonzao's Yuri Oliveira got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 22 played minutes Itapitanga got a freekick which was hit by Remo Hoffmann. Ulysses Macedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarbas da Silveira in the 23rd minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, Jarbas da Silveira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ulysses Macedo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Jarbas da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarbas da Silveira in the 33rd minute of play forced Itapitanga's goalkeeper Ulysses Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35thth minute of the game Jarbas da Silveira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itapitanga's Ulysses Macedo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 38 minutes, Yuri Oliveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bonzao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yuri Oliveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christian Paranaense during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Itapitanga getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Manoel Vieira hit a great ball. In the 47thth minute of the game Yuri Oliveira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itapitanga's Ulysses Macedo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jarbas da Silveira to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match, Jarbas da Silveira tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ulysses Macedo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jarbas da Silveira struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Ulysses Macedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bonzao. After a defensive mix-up in Itapitanga's zone, Yuri Oliveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulysses Macedo came out of the goal and Yuri Oliveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yuri Oliveira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ulysses Macedo having to make a save. Virgílio Cearense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bebeto Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovani Simões in the 73rd minute of play forced Itapitanga's goalkeeper Ulysses Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute, Yuri Oliveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 83rd minute, Jarbas da Silveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
