Quintinos AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valério Tande was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Valério Tande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bebeto Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Itapitanga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bebeto Moraes couldn't finish the play. Rômulo da Mata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valério Tande, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Itapitanga's Bebeto Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 36th minute Valério Tande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rômulo da Mata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The wind increased when Valério Tande made the kick off in the second half. Itapitanga's Ulysses Macedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caco da Mata in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valério Tande in the 65th minute of play forced Quintinos AD's goalkeeper Rômulo da Mata to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Quintinos AD getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Bruninho Schmidt hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Caco da Mata in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ulysses Macedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Caco da Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Macedo having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bebeto Moraes got free with Rômulo da Mata in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ulysses Macedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caco da Mata in the 84th minute of play. Bruninho Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
