With a little luck, Conchal AD's Haroldo Vergílio got control of the ball when Yuri Oliveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Conchal AD defense, Yuri Oliveira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Haroldo Vergílio. The Conchal AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Haroldo Vergílio should have stopped the shot. In the 15th minute Jarbas da Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Vergílio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jarbas da Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Haroldo Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Geovani Simões got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Conchal AD's Haroldo Vergílio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarbas da Silveira in the 37th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Bonzao's Yuri Oliveira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Haroldo Vergílio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jarbas da Silveira scored 2-0 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Haroldo Vergílio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte da Fonseca in the 46th minute of play forced Bonzao's goalkeeper Virgílio Cearense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
