Alfredinho Duarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Rafinha Arantes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jonas Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donatello Jacinto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 22 minutes into the match, Palmares FC's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Mineiro came free, but Haroldo Marinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonas Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Palmares FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Roger Meirelles hit a great ball. If Jonas Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Jonas Azevedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Haroldo Marinho was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. The supporters of Reliquia booed when Palmares FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silas Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Haroldo Marinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donatello Jacinto in the 37th minute of play. Donatello Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Celsinho Lago took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Haroldo Marinho. Haroldo Marinho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Rafinha Arantes made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Alfredinho Duarte sent off a good shot on target.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Donatello Jacinto to make the kick off. Haroldo Marinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jonas Azevedo in the 53rd minute. 54 minutes into the match, Reliquia's Jonas Azevedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Haroldo Marinho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Donatello Jacinto came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Reliquia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donatello Jacinto couldn't finish the play. Donatello Jacinto was extremely unlucky when he, in the 70th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 75 minutes in the game, Donatello Jacinto fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Haroldo Marinho having to interfere. Alfredinho Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Afonso Mineiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Reliquia's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonso Mineiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Haroldo Marinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 93rdth minute of the game Donatello Jacinto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Palmares FC's Haroldo Marinho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Reliquia's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
