The audience was convinced that Cristóvão Pereira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reinaldo Xavier was relentless in the 2nd minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fábio Quaresma in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Válbson Campidelis saved Tubaca EC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Tubaca EC's zone, Rodrigo Carioca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Válbson Campidelis came out of the goal and Rodrigo Carioca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 32 minutes into the match, Ronaldão Veloso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Reinaldo Xavier. Livramento AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ronaldão Veloso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Ronaldão Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Livramento AD's goalkeeper Reinaldo Xavier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tubaca EC's Válbson Campidelis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodrigo Carioca in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristóvão Pereira made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Fábio Quaresma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válbson Campidelis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Livramento AD's Rodrigo Carioca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Válbson Campidelis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fábio Quaresma in the 64th minute of play forced Tubaca EC's goalkeeper Válbson Campidelis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Tubaca EC's Válbson Campidelis got control of the ball when Rodrigo Carioca tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cristóvão Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinaldo Xavier having to interfere. The supporters of Tubaca EC booed when Livramento AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Betão Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronaldão Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinaldo Xavier having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristóvão Pereira in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reinaldo Xavier saved Livramento AD from getting behind. When Tubaca EC's Ronaldão Veloso in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Livramento AD's goalie prevented a goal. Ronaldão Veloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 95 minutes into the game, Pedrinho Corrêa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Livramento AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tubaca EC the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Ronaldão Veloso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tubaca EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldão Veloso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reinaldo Xavier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Tubaca EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Livramento AD had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
