Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Maurício Marquez made the kick off which started today's match. Adalberto Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Eduardo Antunes having to interfere. Percival Paraibano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilberto Esteves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Durvalino Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Carlos Eduardo Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Eduardo Antunes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Durvalino Melo's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Durvalino Melo notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Argola SC's Carlos Eduardo Antunes. Carlos Eduardo Antunes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 18 played minutes Argola SC got a freekick which was hit by Percival Paraibano. In the 28th match minute, Lusitania was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dráuzio Catarinense to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adalberto Ribeiro got free with Carlos Eduardo Antunes in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Durvalino Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Lusitania's Durvalino Melo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Carlos Eduardo Antunes. That made the score 2-0 after 39 minutes of play. The supporters of Argola SC booed when Lusitania was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Durvalino Melo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Eduardo Antunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Argola SC's Carlos Eduardo Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durvalino Melo in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Durvalino Melo to strike the kick off in the second half. If Percival Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durvalino Melo in the 55th minute of play forced Argola SC's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurício Marquez in the 56th minute of play forced Lusitania's goalkeeper Gilberto Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th match minute, Lusitania was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gualter de Queirós to maneuver through the defense. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 67th minute, but Gilberto Esteves got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Lusitania hanging dry this time. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durvalino Melo in the 71st minute of play forced Argola SC's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maurício Marquez in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilberto Esteves saved Lusitania from getting behind. After 74 played minutes Lusitania got a freekick which was hit by Evaristo Mendonça. After 76 minutes Lusitania's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ramiro Mangueira who took care of the corner kick. Argola SC's Ramiro Mangueira was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gilberto Esteves in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Percival Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Durvalino Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Argola SC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Armandinho Guedes hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Argola SC's zone, Durvalino Melo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Eduardo Antunes came out of the goal and Durvalino Melo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Lusitania's Durvalino Melo in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Argola SC's goalie prevented a goal. Adalberto Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Eduardo Antunes having to interfere. Lusitania's Evaristo Mendonça pulled a muscle in his leg after 95 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Caetano Ceresso during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Caetano Ceresso kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
