With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patrick Santos in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alberto Paraense saved Rosario FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tarcisio Aguiar in the 16th minute of play forced Pranchita's goalkeeper Dito Duarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Paulo Peres hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Patrick Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Alberto Paraense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Rosario FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Luiz Paulo Peres hit a great ball. 35 minutes into the match, Pranchita's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Lima came free, but Dito Duarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pranchita's Patrick Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Rosario FC's zone, Dário Cardoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberto Paraense came out of the goal and Dário Cardoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd minute, Marcos Corrêa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 48 minutes into the match, Dário Cardoso notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Rosario FC's Alberto Paraense. Alberto Paraense was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tarcisio Aguiar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rosario FC's Alberto Paraense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Rosario FC from getting a goal against them. 60 minutes into the game, Rosario FC's Ernesto Lima nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dito Duarte made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 65th minute of the match Germano de Mendonça sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dito Duarte skillfully saved the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Enio de Almeida during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Pranchita's Enio de Almeida got a free kick in the 65th minute.
