Rui Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 14 in the game by Tomé Rezende from a close distance when the talented Mateus de Queirós managed to make a qualified save. Ibiuna EC's players were relieved. 21 minutes into the match, Alfredão Proença had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Duda Netto. Bombas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfredão Proença was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Dedê Mandrak was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 25 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ibiuna EC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 24th minute. Penalty! Tomé Rezende recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcelo de Queiroz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Duda Netto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Ibiuna EC's Pedrão Amaral sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Duda Netto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Ibiuna EC booed when Bombas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdo Linares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedrão Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the match, Ibiuna EC's Marcelo de Queiroz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Duda Netto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

A collision led to Bombas getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Horácio Senna hit a great ball. When Marcelo de Queiroz came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Ibiuna EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcelo de Queiroz couldn't finish the play. Pedrão Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valdo Linares hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute of the match Ibiuna EC got a corner. Bombas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alexandre Antunes ran over to the corner to take the kick. Duda Netto came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ibiuna EC's Marcelo de Queiroz. But to his dismay, Marcelo de Queiroz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Marcelo de Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 70 played minutes Bombas got a freekick which was hit by Valdo Linares. Duda Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo de Queiroz in the 73rd minute of play. Pedrão Amaral might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Duda Netto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedrão Amaral ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 78th minute Tomé Rezende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateus de Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the game, Pedrão Amaral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ibiuna EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bombas the free kick. In the 79th match minute, Ibiuna EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedrão Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Bombas's Ronaldo Guimarães couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 80th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ibiuna EC. Marcelo de Queiroz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Durval Vides struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Duda Netto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ibiuna EC. In the 91st minute, Durval Vides reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Duda Netto. The goal made the score 1-3. Pedrão Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Ibiuna EC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Bombas.
