The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Emerson Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The referee ignored Inhomirim EC's protests and gave Jorge Gonçalves a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Buracao AD booed when Inhomirim EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Gonçalves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juarês de Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Lopes in the 11th minute of play forced Inhomirim EC's goalkeeper Falcão Rosado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Falcão Rosado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emerson Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by Inhomirim EC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dênis Penha was slow to take the kick. During this time Buracao AD's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Dênis Penha got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Falcão Rosado quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, Inhomirim EC's Marco Sarmento got a free kick in the 18th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Buracao AD's Dênis Penha broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emerson Nunes in the 21st minute of play forced Inhomirim EC's goalkeeper Falcão Rosado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute, Aírton Botelho fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Tony de Barros, passed just outside the right post. Gil Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falcão Rosado having to interfere. Emerson Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Juarês de Barros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Falcão Rosado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emerson Nunes in the 53rd minute of the match. A collision led to Inhomirim EC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Eusébio da Silva hit a great ball. Aírton Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony de Barros having to interfere. Buracao AD's Gil Macedo got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emerson Nunes during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Emerson Nunes hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. 65 minutes into the match, Buracao AD's goal looked a bit too open when Aírton Botelho came free, but Tony de Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
