Match Report

Estádio Orico
Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0)
The mood of the audience was pleasant when Gino Palmeira made the kick off which started today's match. Gino Palmeira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Orico's Enéas Hoffmann got a free kick in the 13th minute. If Sandro Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 16 minutes, Rodolfo Eger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Orico and the Quixaba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rodolfo Eger kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. After 20 played minutes, Quixaba's Tiaguinho Fonseca shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Emerson Berger came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Quixaba reached it. Fausto Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Aírton Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Fausto Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aírton Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gino Palmeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute of the match, Gino Palmeira tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Aírton Rocha saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 35 minutes into the match, Gino Palmeira notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Quixaba's Aírton Rocha. Aírton Rocha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 40 minutes into the game, Gino Palmeira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Aírton Rocha. Gino Palmeira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. 47 minutes into the match, Sandro Tinoco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emerson Berger. Orico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sandro Tinoco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sandro Tinoco to make the kick off. Aírton Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Cardoso in the 55th minute of the match. Gino Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aírton Rocha having to interfere. Gino Palmeira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aírton Rocha having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miguel Barral during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Gustavo Sabóia got free with Emerson Berger in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Quixaba's goalkeeper Aírton Rocha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sandro Tinoco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Emerson Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Gustavo Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sandro Tinoco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute, Arlindo Dias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Fausto Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aírton Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gino Palmeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Gino Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Aírton Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
