Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Alfredo Miranda kicked off to start the match. Ciro Cosme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Miranda in the 3rd minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 5 minutes, Agnaldo Jacinto successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Zé Pedro Tepedino's late challenge caught a Palmyra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Pedro Tepedino helped the player get up and apologised. Alfredo Miranda struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Ciro Cosme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taquarussu AD. 12 minutes into the match, Leonardo Torres notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Palmyra's Ciro Cosme. Ciro Cosme was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Ernani dos Santos put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Agnaldo Jacinto. Ciro Cosme didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leonardo Torres went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Taquarussu AD's Leonardo Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jânio Montenegro's late challenge caught a Taquarussu AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jânio Montenegro helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Taquarussu AD booed when Palmyra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jânio Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 31 minutes, Alfredo Miranda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Taquarussu AD and the Palmyra players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 33 minutes of play, Taquarussu AD's Leonardo Torres made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ciro Cosme was left in no man's land by his defense there! José Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ernani dos Santos got free with Agnaldo Jacinto in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vítor de Queiroz in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Agnaldo Jacinto saved Taquarussu AD from getting behind. Agnaldo Jacinto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ernani dos Santos in the 45th minute. Vítor de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agnaldo Jacinto having to interfere. After the first half Taquarussu AD were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vítor de Queiroz to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Palmyra's Dráusio Marinho got a free kick in the 57th minute. Alfredo Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonardo Torres might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ciro Cosme. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leonardo Torres ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Palmyra booed when Taquarussu AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Digo Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Agnaldo Jacinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernani dos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Álvaro da Silveira hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. The supporters of Palmyra booed when Taquarussu AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Pedro Tepedino didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute, Dráusio Marinho sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Taquarussu AD's Agnaldo Jacinto didn't even have to move. In the 79th minute, Vítor de Queiroz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor de Queiroz in the 83rd minute of play forced Taquarussu AD's goalkeeper Agnaldo Jacinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th match minute, Palmyra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldir Britto to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Taquarussu AD's Ediberto Mesquita tried to score from far away in the 89th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Alfredo Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Taquarussu AD had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
