Afonso Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deivid de Senna in the 49th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 88th minute, but Dionísio Soeiro got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Itanhomy AD hanging dry this time. Vítor Cardoso struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Dionísio Soeiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Campeira FC. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Itanhomy AD fans cheered their team off the field, for while Campeira FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
