After a rather tough play, Timaneira's Tomé Teixeira got a free kick in the 7th minute. Felipe Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flávio Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Claudio's goalkeeper Eliseu Xavier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arthur Vale. Timaneira's Felipe Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Pombal in the 19th minute of play. Hílton Meirelles charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hílton Meirelles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 25th match minute, Timaneira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugênio Vieira to maneuver through the defense. If Augusto Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Augusto Souto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Felipe Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Flávio Pombal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Claudio's Valério Tasso got a free kick in the 45th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arthur Vale during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Claudio booed when Timaneira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arthur Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Samuca Tavares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuca Tavares in the 53rd minute of play forced Claudio's goalkeeper Eliseu Xavier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on Timaneira's corner Hílton Meirelles fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Eliseu Xavier quite easily take care of the ball. The referee ignored Timaneira's protests and gave Samuca Tavares a yellow card for diving instead. If Samuca Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Arthur Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arthur Vale in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eliseu Xavier saved Claudio from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Samuca Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Timaneira's supporters rose to their feet, but Samuca Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliseu Xavier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Claudio's Eliseu Xavier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arthur Vale in the 81st minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Arthur Vale cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Eliseu Xavier was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Claudio booed when Timaneira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deivid Carneiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st minute, Deivid Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Timaneira were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
