Armandinho Macedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oséias Alves, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Oséias Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armandinho Macedo having to interfere. Oséias Alves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Armandinho Macedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. If Yuri de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 46 minutes, Oséias Alves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arroz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oséias Alves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Yuri de Carvalho to strike the kick off in the second half. If Oséias Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Telmo Leal came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Maragogipe FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Telmo Leal couldn't finish the play. Oséias Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Arroz booed when Maragogipe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball.
