Nicolas Toledo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oséias Alves in the 8th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Elias Santana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luiz Fernando Senna. Arroz's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elias Santana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Gualter Tinoco kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Inglesa's Nicolas Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrézinho Meirelles in the 19th minute of play. Cesinha Dante charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cesinha Dante the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Arroz's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Senna, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 27th match minute, Arroz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgílio Lira to maneuver through the defense. Kauã Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fernando Senna having to interfere. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Kauã Azevedo sped through Arroz's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luiz Fernando Senna. Elias Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute, Arroz's Zé Mello seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Zé Mello the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Arroz protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Zé Mello had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 43rd minute of the game. One of Arroz:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Inglesa:s goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kauã Azevedo was the one to do the kick off. If Kauã Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute Kauã Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fernando Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 0-5 became the score in the 58th minute when Kauã Azevedo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kauã Azevedo in the 61st minute of play forced Arroz's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elias Santana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 65th minute Kauã Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fernando Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oséias Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd match minute, Inglesa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesinha Dante to maneuver through the defense. In the 77th match minute, Arroz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrézinho Meirelles to maneuver through the defense. The nice shot from Elias Santana in the 79thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Luiz Fernando Senna had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Inglesa's Kauã Azevedo was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 84th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal.
