Luisão Passos started the match with the kick off. Pinga FC's Gugu Xavier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Correia in the 4th minute of play. Cacapava EC's Basílio Sena couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 6th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Pinga FC. Osmar Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisão Passos, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Enio Vianna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudinei Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Gugu Xavier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Pinga FC's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinho Varela came free, but Gugu Xavier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. During the 17th minute of the match Jânio Miranda completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Jânio Miranda a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Gugu Xavier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinho Varela in the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinei Correia in the 21st minute of play forced Pinga FC's goalkeeper Gugu Xavier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Pinga FC's Renato Pimenta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Osmar Quadros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Claudinei Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gugu Xavier having to interfere. Gugu Xavier stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudinho Varela's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Cacapava EC's Claudinei Correia got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Claudinho Varela scored 1-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gugu Xavier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Cacapava EC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Júnior Macedo hit a great ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Claudinho Varela made a kick off. After some careless play in the Pinga FC defense, Claudinei Correia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gugu Xavier. The Pinga FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gugu Xavier should have stopped the shot. Claudinei Correia might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gugu Xavier. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claudinei Correia ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinho Varela in the 62nd minute of play forced Pinga FC's goalkeeper Gugu Xavier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Pinga FC's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinho Varela came free, but Gugu Xavier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th match minute, Pinga FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renato Pimenta to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes into the match, Pinga FC's Enio Vianna sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Osmar Quadros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 83 played minutes Cacapava EC got a freekick which was hit by André Luís Chaves. Osmar Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enio Vianna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Claudinei Correia scored 1-3 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gugu Xavier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Pinga FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cacapava EC's performance. The match ended with a win for Cacapava EC.
