Clóvis Sá struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Gonçalo Freitas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fumo FC. In the 7th minute, Clóvis Sá got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Tibúrcio Soeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nilton Rocha's late challenge caught a Fumo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nilton Rocha helped the player get up and apologised. Walmyr Corrêa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Custódio Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Tibúrcio Soeiro was extremely unlucky when he, in the 28th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Clóvis Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Freitas having to interfere. After 38 minutes, Vinícius Gaspar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vinhais and the Fumo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee gave Fumo FC a penalty, 40 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jonas Vieira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vinhais's Gonçalo Freitas. 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Clóvis Sá to make the kick off. Gonçalo Freitas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tibúrcio Soeiro went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Vinhais's Nilton Rocha got a free kick in the 68th minute. Fumo FC's Walmyr Corrêa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Fumo FC from getting a goal against them. Evandro Passos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Tibúrcio Soeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evaristo Carvalho struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Walmyr Corrêa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vinhais. 98 minutes into the match, Vinhais's Erivaldo Cardozo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Walmyr Corrêa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Vinhais players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Fumo FC.
