The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jean Teles hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Bruno Mangueira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Evaristo Carvalho's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Vinhais's Gonçalo Freitas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betão Ceresso in the 6th minute of play. When Betão Ceresso came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Cunuman SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Betão Ceresso couldn't finish the play. Betão Ceresso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gonçalo Freitas having to make a save. Bruno Mangueira made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Custódio Leite sent off a good shot on target. After 26 played minutes Vinhais got a freekick which was hit by Erivaldo Cardozo. Silvinho Rocha, 27 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Betão Ceresso in the 34th minute of play forced Vinhais's goalkeeper Gonçalo Freitas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Evaristo Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Conrado Trancoso during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Cunuman SC booed when Vinhais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erivaldo Cardozo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Betão Ceresso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st match minute, Cunuman SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean Teles to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute, Evaristo Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bruno Mangueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evaristo Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Afonsinho Aguiar came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Cunuman SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonsinho Aguiar couldn't finish the play.
