After 11 played minutes, Cunuman SC's Silvinho Rocha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Walmyr Corrêa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 18 minutes, Jonas Vieira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fumo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonas Vieira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Fumo FC's Walmyr Corrêa got control of the ball when Betão Ceresso tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Fumo FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Evandro Passos hit a great ball. After 26 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Fumo FC! In the 27th minute of the game, Cunuman SC got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. Bernardo Meira struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Walmyr Corrêa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cunuman SC. Betão Ceresso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Walmyr Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cunuman SC's Bruno Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clóvis Sá in the 35th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Afonsinho Aguiar to make the kick off. Walmyr Corrêa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonsinho Aguiar in the 52nd minute of the match. Fumo FC's Walmyr Corrêa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonsinho Aguiar in the 54th minute of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Betão Ceresso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cunuman SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Betão Ceresso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cunuman SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Clóvis Sá was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Cunuman SC's zone, Tibúrcio Soeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Mangueira came out of the goal and Tibúrcio Soeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Bernardo Meira fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cunuman SC's protests and gave Bernardo Meira a yellow card for diving instead. Cunuman SC's Bruno Mangueira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Cunuman SC from getting a goal against them. In the 96th minute, Bernardo Meira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Clóvis Sá in the 98th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruno Mangueira saved Cunuman SC from getting behind. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Fumo FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
