Custódio Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edu Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 9 minutes into the match, Taquarandi's Rui Varela sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Agnaldo Freire narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Agnaldo Freire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Linhares in the 10th minute of play. Taquarandi's Custódio Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edu Garcia in the 15th minute of play. Custódio Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edu Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Taquarandi defense, Edu Garcia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Custódio Neto. The Taquarandi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Custódio Neto should have stopped the shot. In the 24th minute of the match Bernardo Paraense sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Custódio Neto skillfully saved the ball. Agnaldo Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 30th minute, Taquarandi's Leandro Linhares dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Caapoa SC's zone, Leandro Linhares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agnaldo Freire came out of the goal and Leandro Linhares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leandro Linhares was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Taquarandi getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Erivaldo Machado hit a great ball. Rui Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juvenal Freitas struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Custódio Neto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caapoa SC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mauro Soares during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 64th match minute, Taquarandi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Soares to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute, Leandro Linhares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Taquarandi's Rui Varela got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Agnaldo Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Varela in the 74th minute of the match. A collision led to Taquarandi getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Mauro Soares hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, Taquarandi's goal looked a bit too open when Edu Garcia came free, but Custódio Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Custódio Neto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juvenal Freitas in the 86th minute. Erivaldo Machado's late challenge caught a Caapoa SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erivaldo Machado helped the player get up and apologised. Erivaldo Machado hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Edu Garcia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Custódio Neto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Erivaldo Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agnaldo Freire having to interfere. Taquarandi's Mauro Soares got his second yellow card of the match in the 96th minute. The referee ordered Mauro Soares off the ground. In the 97th minute, Mauro Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Taquarandi were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
