Paranagua SS's Haroldo Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mário Carneiro in the 8th minute of play. In the 9thth minute of the game Mário Carneiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paranagua SS's Haroldo Soares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A hard shot 13 in the game by Maurício Moreira from a close distance when the talented Haroldo Soares managed to make a qualified save. Paranagua SS's players were relieved. Augusto Monteiro scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulão Martins, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 22 played minutes, Paranagua SS's Adalmo Pombal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paulão Martins came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. The supporters of Paranagua SS booed when Martinopolis SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Umberto Mesquita didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Paranagua SS's Vânderson Gaúcho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paulão Martins narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vânderson Gaúcho in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulão Martins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 60th minute, Maurício Moreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 66 minutes into the match, Mário Carneiro notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Paranagua SS's Haroldo Soares. Haroldo Soares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Tiago Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Martinopolis SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiago Senna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Haroldo Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mário Carneiro in the 80th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Martinopolis SS's goalkeeper Paulão Martins had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Augusto Monteiro. In the 87th match minute, Martinopolis SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrício Fantini to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Paranagua SS getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Vânderson Gaúcho hit a great ball. Maurício Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
