But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cássio Marinho couldn't finish the play. Paranagua SS's Haroldo Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Cardozo in the 46th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claudinei Cardozo to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Cássio Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barracas's supporters rose to their feet, but Cássio Marinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
