Hortêncio Cosme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olavo Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Serginho Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Comocoxico EC's Serginho Esteves was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 20th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Américo Lucas got free with Pedrão Botelho in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pedrão Botelho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Américo Lucas in the 29th minute. In the 34th minute, Leandro Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Comocoxico EC's goalkeeper Hortêncio Cosme, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 44 minutes into the match, Comocoxico EC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Netto came free, but Hortêncio Cosme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Icozinho SS getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Rogério Koehler hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After having played for 60 minutes, Olavo Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Icozinho SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olavo Trigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Marcus Netto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eurico Goiano hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Américo Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrão Botelho having to interfere. Marcus Netto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hortêncio Cosme read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Comocoxico EC's Hortêncio Cosme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olavo Trigo in the 77th minute of play. If Marcus Netto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Leandro Montenegro fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Comocoxico EC's protests and gave Leandro Montenegro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 80th minute, Leandro Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Olavo Trigo struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Hortêncio Cosme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Icozinho SS. Serginho Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th match minute, Comocoxico EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eurico Goiano to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olavo Trigo in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hortêncio Cosme saved Comocoxico EC from getting behind. Serginho Esteves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrão Botelho having to interfere. Américo Lucas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Icozinho SS players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Comocoxico EC.
