Tales Arce stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nilson Matorin's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. A collision led to Ivagaci EC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Tales Arce didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Resende. Nilson Matorin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Luís Fábio Travassos came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Resende fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Fábio Travassos couldn't finish the play. If Nilson Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Fábio Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Jerônimo Mattos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard de Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Luís Fábio Travassos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Resende's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Fábio Travassos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jerônimo Mattos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After some careless play in the Resende defense, Richard de Toledo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jerônimo Mattos. The Resende fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jerônimo Mattos should have stopped the shot. 63 minutes into the match, Resende's goal looked a bit too open when Richard de Toledo came free, but Jerônimo Mattos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vitório Netto's late challenge caught a Ivagaci EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vitório Netto helped the player get up and apologised. Richard de Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 68 minutes into the match, Resende's goal looked a bit too open when Maurinho Tavares came free, but Jerônimo Mattos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jerônimo Mattos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ivagaci EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Resende had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
