Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Nilson Matorin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Giovanni Tavares made a huge save. In the 11th minute, Gerson Loureiro made a precise shot to the right of Jerônimo Mattos. Resende's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Gerson Loureiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jerônimo Mattos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gerson Loureiro ran back to his position shaking his head. If Nilson Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Nilson Matorin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Resende fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 23rdth minute of the game Gerson Loureiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Resende's Jerônimo Mattos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Resende's Luís Fábio Travassos got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nilson Matorin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arizona SC's Giovanni Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fábio Travassos in the 37th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Bernardinho Loyola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manfredo Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Resende's zone, Gerson Loureiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jerônimo Mattos came out of the goal and Gerson Loureiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manfredo Damião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerônimo Mattos having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The wind increased when Gerson Loureiro made the kick off in the second half. Gerson Loureiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Resende's zone, Manfredo Damião stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jerônimo Mattos came out of the goal and Manfredo Damião tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gerson Loureiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Resende fans' excitement grew in the 67th match minute when Resende's Nilson Matorin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Luís Fábio Travassos took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Giovanni Tavares. Giovanni Tavares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Manfredo Damião struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Jerônimo Mattos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arizona SC. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Nilson Matorin put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Giovanni Tavares. If Manfredo Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Arizona SC's Gerson Loureiro in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Resende's goalie prevented a goal. Nilson Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Victor Cabral fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Resende's protests and gave Victor Cabral a yellow card for diving instead. Victor Cabral hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Valério da Rocha's shot from long distance in the 90th minute was not bad at all, but Resende's Jerônimo Mattos knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. After a rather tough play, Resende's Luís Fábio Travassos got a free kick in the 92nd minute.
