The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Arizona SC defense, Juninho Brasil kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Giovanni Tavares. The Arizona SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Giovanni Tavares should have stopped the shot. Gerson Loureiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Arizona SC fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Arizona SC's Manfredo Damião looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 17th minute, Gerson Loureiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gerson Loureiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tales Arce having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Arizona SC's Gerson Loureiro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tales Arce. That made the score 2-1 after 21 minutes of play. Arizona SC's Giovanni Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurinho Tavares in the 24th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Richard de Toledo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Giovanni Tavares was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Richard de Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Tavares having to interfere. If Manfredo Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Natanael Lopes hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gerson Loureiro to strike the kick off in the second half. Gerson Loureiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tales Arce. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gerson Loureiro ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 56th minute, Natanael Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th match minute, Ivagaci EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cléber Barreto to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerson Loureiro in the 64th minute of play forced Ivagaci EC's goalkeeper Tales Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Ivagaci EC booed when Arizona SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edvaldo Loyola didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Ivagaci EC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Waldemar Torres hit a great ball. In the 72nd minute of the match Valério da Rocha sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tales Arce skillfully saved the ball. Juninho Brasil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Tavares having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard de Toledo in the 85th minute of play forced Arizona SC's goalkeeper Giovanni Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Manfredo Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arizona SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Manfredo Damião was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tales Arce breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maurinho Tavares hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Richard de Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Giovanni Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Giovanni Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard de Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. 95 minutes into the game, Andrézinho Chaves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arizona SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ivagaci EC the free kick. In the 96th match minute, Arizona SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrézinho Chaves to maneuver through the defense. A nice corner shot did that Waldemar Torres got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Giovanni Tavares quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ivagaci EC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
