Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Luís Fábio Travassos started the match with the kick off. 16 minutes into the match, Resende's goal looked a bit too open when Mateus Xavier came free, but Jerônimo Mattos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nilson Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Messias having to interfere. When Simão Linhares came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Moleque EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simão Linhares couldn't finish the play. Luís Fábio Travassos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. João Carlos Messias came out and tried to block the shot, but Luís Fábio Travassos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 25th minute. After 29 minutes, Clóvis Pombal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Moleque EC and the Resende players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 29th match minute, Moleque EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clóvis Pombal to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the match, Simão Linhares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jerônimo Mattos. Resende's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Simão Linhares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 36th minute, Inácio Pimenta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jerônimo Mattos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Nilson Matorin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. João Carlos Messias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nilson Matorins short, quick shot in the 42ndth minute got João Carlos Messias to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Luís Fábio Travassos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute, one of Moleque EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Moleque EC. Moleque EC:s João Carlos Messias showed great skill when he stopped Cássio Carneiro:s penalty. If Luís Fábio Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Inácio Pimenta was the one to do the kick off. Luís Fábio Travassos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. João Carlos Messias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nilson Matorin in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Carlos Messias saved Moleque EC from getting behind. After having played for 64 minutes, Mateus Xavier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moleque EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mateus Xavier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 67 played minutes Moleque EC got a freekick which was hit by Simão Linhares. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Fábio Travassos in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Carlos Messias saved Moleque EC from getting behind. A collision led to Resende getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Armindo Mota hit a great ball. Mateus Xavier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Jerônimo Mattos made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Moleque EC's Josué Novaes got a free kick in the 80th minute. A collision led to Resende getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Armindo Mota hit a great ball. When Moleque EC's Inácio Pimenta in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Resende's goalie prevented a goal. Inácio Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerônimo Mattos having to interfere. If Nilson Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Carlos Messias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilson Matorin in the 95th minute of the match. Moleque EC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
