An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Zanette in the 13th minute of play forced Cianorte EC's goalkeeper João Paulo Oliveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Almir Vinhas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fernandinho Lara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marquinhos Mumbach, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After having played for 59 minutes, Marquinhos Mumbach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cianorte EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marquinhos Mumbach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Marquinhos Mumbach managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cianorte EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marquinhos Mumbach was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernandinho Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Paulo Oliveira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. Marquinhos Mumbach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Fernandinho Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fernandinho Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Almir Vinhas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marquinhos Mumbach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Almir Vinhas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Marquinhos Mumbach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute, Belchior Maciel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Almir Vinhas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandinho Lara having to interfere. A hard shot by Chiquinho Varela from long distance, 95 minutes into the match, got João Paulo Oliveira's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After a rather tough play, Cianorte EC's Conrado Furtado got a free kick in the 96th minute. In the 99th minute of the match Iguatama got a corner. Cianorte EC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Agenor Luz ran over to the corner to take the kick. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Iguatama walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
