Agnaldo Linares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Chico Paiva made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Liberdade SS's zone, Agnaldo Linares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chico Paiva came out of the goal and Agnaldo Linares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 16 minutes into the match, Liberdade SS's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Fontes came free, but Chico Paiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th match minute, Liberdade SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Álvaro Jacinto to maneuver through the defense. In the 22ndth minute of the game Conrado Fontes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Liberdade SS's Chico Paiva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Agnaldo Linares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catita FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Agnaldo Linares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chico Paiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Catita FC's Durval Rodrigues got a free kick in the 29th minute. Nando Gaspar hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Giuseppe Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Recife, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 39th play minute Agnaldo Linares came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Chico Paiva. 1-0. After 48 minutes of play, Liberdade SS's Nicolas Recife made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Giuseppe Leite was left in no man's land by his defense there! The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nicolas Recife made a kick off. Catita FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Nicolas Recife 56 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. Abel Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Edmílson do Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nicolas Recife struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Giuseppe Leite didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liberdade SS. 77 minutes into the game, Álvaro Jacinto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liberdade SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Catita FC the free kick. Agnaldo Linares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
