Miguel Dante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Varela having to interfere. Dadá Figueiredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldão da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bulhoes EC! Jaime Azevedo shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Dadá Figueiredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldão da Costa in the 19th minute of the match. Ronaldão da Costa struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Dadá Figueiredo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itaibo. Anselmo Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marco Novaes hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 38th of the match, Miguel Dante tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Daniel Varela got in the way and made a wonderful save.

In the 51st minute, Jânio Guerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dadá Figueiredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dinei Silveira in the 53rd minute of the match. If Anselmo Donato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute Miguel Dante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo Donato, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Zé Roberto do Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. If Miguel Dante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Anselmo Donato managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bulhoes EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Donato was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Miguel Dante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Varela having to interfere. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Miguel Dante sped through Itaibo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Daniel Varela. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 75th minute of the game. One of Bulhoes EC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Itaibo:s goal. When Miguel Dante came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Bulhoes EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miguel Dante couldn't finish the play. Anselmo Donato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tarcisio Gonçalves kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. If Dinei Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Ronaldão da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronaldão da Costa was extremely unlucky when he, in the 96th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Itaibo eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
