After a rather tough play, Fechadinho EC's Juarês Nóbrega got a free kick in the 3rd minute. After 8 played minutes Fechadinho EC got a freekick which was hit by Zézinho da Cunha. With a little luck, Farinna's Patrício Meirelles got control of the ball when Enéas Vander tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gilmar Zonta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Délio Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Gilmar Zonta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Farinna fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Farinna's Gilmar Zonta looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Edmílson Vasconcelos's late challenge caught a Fechadinho EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edmílson Vasconcelos helped the player get up and apologised. Edmílson Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Fechadinho EC's goalkeeper Délio Travassos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Enéas Vander struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Patrício Meirelles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fechadinho EC. If Gilmar Zonta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Paulo Renato Gerber made the kick off in the second half. If Paulo Renato Gerber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Farinna defense, Zézinho da Cunha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Patrício Meirelles. The Farinna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Patrício Meirelles should have stopped the shot. Gilmar Zonta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zézinho da Cunha in the 69th minute of play forced Farinna's goalkeeper Patrício Meirelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilmar Zonta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Délio Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patrício Meirelles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zézinho da Cunha's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. When Gilmar Zonta came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Farinna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilmar Zonta couldn't finish the play. 83 minutes into the match, Fechadinho EC's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Renato Gerber came free, but Délio Travassos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Samuel Damião fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Farinna's protests and gave Samuel Damião a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd minute, Maurinho Diniz sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Farinna's Patrício Meirelles didn't even have to move. Patrício Meirelles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zézinho da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Farinna players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Fechadinho EC.
