In the 7th minute Percy Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adalmo Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Rodriguinho Veiga came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Puei fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodriguinho Veiga couldn't finish the play. Clemente Arantes's late challenge caught a Puei's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Clemente Arantes helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Puei booed when Curumu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Arantes didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 15 in the game by Geovanni Pinheiro from a close distance when the talented Rubinho Reis managed to make a qualified save. Curumu's players were relieved. Rodriguinho Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubinho Reis having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Geovanni Pinheiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Puei's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovanni Pinheiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rubinho Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 24 minutes into the match, Curumu's goal looked a bit too open when Rodriguinho Veiga came free, but Rubinho Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cláudio Zilles hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute of the match Edu Magalhães shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rubinho Reis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, Curumu's Rubinho Reis got control of the ball when Geovanni Pinheiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Puei's Rodriguinho Veiga got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute, Geovanni Pinheiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Puei fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Betão da Cunha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adalmo Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percy Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Murillo Novaes made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute of the match, Murillo Novaes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Adalmo Velasco saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Murillo Novaes in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adalmo Velasco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Puei getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Tomé Esteves hit a great ball. Rubinho Reis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodriguinho Veiga's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. If Percy Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Murillo Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Curumu's supporters rose to their feet, but Murillo Novaes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adalmo Velasco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 77 minutes, Percy Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Curumu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Percy Rocha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Murillo Novaes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Curumu defense, Geovanni Pinheiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rubinho Reis. The Curumu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rubinho Reis should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Curumu getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Clemente Arantes hit a great ball. Rodriguinho Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Curumu's Rubinho Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodriguinho Veiga in the 93rd minute of play. A collision led to Puei getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Betão da Cunha hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Percy Rocha got free with Adalmo Velasco in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
