Ulysses Gaúcho hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. 8 minutes into the match, Jaupaci SC's goal looked a bit too open when Thomás de Azevedo came free, but Adalmo Neiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valdir Alvarenga during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ulysses Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnaldo Leal took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Adalmo Neiva. Jaupaci SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Jaupaci SC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Agenor Loyola hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Luiz Fantini in the 26th minute of play forced Jaupaci SC's goalkeeper Adalmo Neiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thomás de Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Agenor Loyola during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Agenor Loyola hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. 33 minutes into the game, Calutino's Pedro Luiz Fantini nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adalmo Neiva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Agenor Loyola was shown his second yellow card after 40 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Agenor Loyola kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Calutino's Luís Paulo Jacinto got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Germano Braga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Ulysses Perez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Calutino booed when Jaupaci SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulysses Gaúcho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Pedro Luiz Fantini made the kick off in the second half. When Agenor da Cunha fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jaupaci SC's protests and gave Agenor da Cunha a yellow card for diving instead. In the 56th minute, the referee gave Calutino a penalty. Arlindo Viana looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Adalmo Neiva. A collision led to Calutino getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Pedro Luiz Fantini hit a great ball. Thomás de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adalmo Neiva having to interfere. If Thomás de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomás de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th match minute, Jaupaci SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Hoffmann to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Arlindo Viana from long distance, 80 minutes into the match, got Adalmo Neiva's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Adalmo Neiva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedro Luiz Fantini's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. In the 97th minute of the match, Thomás de Azevedo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Adalmo Neiva was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Calutino eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
