An unexpectedly hard shot by Dênis Terra in the 5th minute of play forced Jaupaci SC's goalkeeper Adalmo Neiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oswaldo Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Jaupaci SC's Adalberto Moreno got a free kick in the 11th minute. After 12 played minutes Walmyr Nascimento shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Jaupaci SC's Adalmo Neiva to catch but Walmyr Nascimento was lucky. It became 0-1 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Rony Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulysses Gaúcho in the 19th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Germano Braga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jaupaci SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Germano Braga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rony Quintal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dênis Terra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. If Oswaldo Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adalmo Neiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dênis Terra, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ulysses Gaúcho was the one to do the kick off. Ulysses Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Rony Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lavaginha FC's Rony Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Germano Braga in the 55th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ulysses Gaúcho in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rony Quintal saved Lavaginha FC from getting behind. 59 minutes into the game, Jaupaci SC's Ulysses Gaúcho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rony Quintal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Rui Hoffmann's late challenge caught a Lavaginha FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rui Hoffmann helped the player get up and apologised. 69 minutes into the match, Lavaginha FC's Dênis Terra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adalmo Neiva narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Germano Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rony Quintal having to interfere. The supporters of Lavaginha FC booed when Jaupaci SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agenor da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lavaginha FC's Rony Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulysses Gaúcho in the 78th minute of play. After 91 minutes of play, Jaupaci SC's Ulysses Gaúcho made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rony Quintal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
