Cícero Loureiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Brasil in the 3rd minute of play. Arnaldo Brasil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Cícero Loureiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Guerra got free with Agenor Pernambucano in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Marcel de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute, Xapetuba's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Carlos Guerra fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Fausto Freitas struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Cícero Loureiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Xapetuba. After having played for 26 minutes, Fausto Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Xapetuba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fausto Freitas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 28th minute, Avelar SS's Marcel de Sena ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Agenor Pernambucano. Agenor Pernambucano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Marcel de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Avelar SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcel de Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Agenor Pernambucano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 38 minutes, Hugo Dias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Avelar SS and the Xapetuba players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Xapetuba booed when Avelar SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnaldo Brasil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Marcel de Sena reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Agenor Pernambucano. The goal made the score 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcel de Sena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Arnaldo Brasil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th match minute, Avelar SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Guilherme Bertassi to maneuver through the defense. Arnaldo Brasil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero Loureiro having to interfere. Leonardo Coelho kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. 65 minutes into the game, Avelar SS's Marcel de Sena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Agenor Pernambucano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Avelar SS's Carlos Guerra got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 75th minute, Avelar SS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Arnaldo Brasil fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 76th minute Fausto Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cícero Loureiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 78 played minutes Xapetuba got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Freitas. Carlos Guerra struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Agenor Pernambucano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Avelar SS. In the 81st play minute Arnaldo Brasil came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Cícero Loureiro. 4-1. 85 minutes into the game, Marcel de Sena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Agenor Pernambucano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Marcel de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Avelar SS's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
