Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Reginaldo Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcel de Sena in the 4th minute of play. Yauarete EC's Reginaldo Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Guerra in the 6th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Marcel de Sena had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Reginaldo Varela. Yauarete EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcel de Sena was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Jano Vinhas kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Carlos Guerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Artur Secco charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Artur Secco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Artur Secco hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Vivaldo Baptista took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cícero Loureiro. Avelar SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Yauarete EC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Cássio Medeiros hit a great ball. Carlos Guerra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reginaldo Varela read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. During the 25th minute of the match Cássio Medeiros completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cássio Medeiros a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 25 played minutes Yauarete EC got a freekick which was hit by Cássio Medeiros. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcel de Sena in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reginaldo Varela prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Avelar SS's Marcel de Sena got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cícero Loureiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Horácio Travassos in the 34th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Avelar SS's zone, Horácio Travassos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cícero Loureiro came out of the goal and Horácio Travassos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Horácio Travassos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cícero Loureiro firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 40 minutes Avelar SS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vivaldo Baptista who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Yauarete EC's Vivaldo Baptista to fire away a dangerous shot which Cícero Loureiro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Reginaldo Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel de Sena in the 52nd minute of the match. Horácio Travassos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 56th minute, Osmar Fonseca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Avelar SS's Carlos Guerra slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Reginaldo Varela. That made the score 0-2 after 60 minutes of play. Marcel de Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reginaldo Varela having to interfere. Horácio Travassos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gilvan Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cícero Loureiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horácio Travassos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcel de Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Avelar SS booed when Yauarete EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Falcão Lago didn't get a good kick on the ball. Avelar SS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Artur Secco in the 86th minute. After a rather tough play, Avelar SS's Luís Guilherme Bertassi got a free kick in the 86th minute. If Horácio Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Yauarete EC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Gilvan Amaral hit a great ball. Avelar SS's Artur Secco couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 96th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Yauarete EC. The Avelar SS players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
