After 12 minutes, Gildo Coelho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paumaripe SC and the Ingrata AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Paumaripe SC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Gildo Coelho hit a great ball. The supporters of Paumaripe SC booed when Ingrata AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Botelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Alberto Arósio in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tiaguinho Xavier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gernando Tande hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ediberto de Medeiros got free with Tiaguinho Xavier in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 33 played minutes, Ingrata AD's Gernando Tande shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ciro de Godoy came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ingrata AD reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Botelho in the 37th minute of play forced Paumaripe SC's goalkeeper Ciro de Godoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ingrata AD's Lino Ortiz got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 40 minutes into the match, Carlos Alberto Arósio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tiaguinho Xavier, 1-1.

Carlos Alberto Arósio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Lino Ortiz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ingrata AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Lino Ortiz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ciro de Godoy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sandrinho Esteves's late challenge caught a Ingrata AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sandrinho Esteves helped the player get up and apologised. In the 64th match minute, Paumaripe SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandrinho Esteves to maneuver through the defense. If Joel Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lino Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Ciro de Godoy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lino Ortiz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 72ndth minute, Ciro de Godoy skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ingrata AD's goalkeeper Tiaguinho Xavier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ingrata AD's Tiaguinho Xavier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ediberto de Medeiros in the 83rd minute of play. Ingrata AD's Joel Botelho got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Joel Botelho came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Ingrata AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Botelho couldn't finish the play. Paumaripe SC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ingrata AD had controlled the match.
