Carlos Alberto Arósio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 12 minutes, Carlos Alberto Arósio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paumaripe SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Alberto Arósio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Carlos Alberto Arósio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonardo Rocha was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Leonardo Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Arósio in the 17th minute of play. In the 26th minute, Norberto Martins got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Dedê Campidelis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ciro de Godoy. Paumaripe SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dedê Campidelis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Felipe Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes into the game, Conrado Leal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paumaripe SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Criuva the free kick. In the 43rd minute, Conrado Leal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Criuva's goalkeeper Leonardo Rocha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Alberto Arósio was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Criuva's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Alberto Arósio came free, but Leonardo Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Criuva booed when Paumaripe SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovanni Tavares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sandrinho Esteves kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. With 72 minutes on the clock, Geovanni Tavares commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Afonso de Toledo placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Criuva's Norberto Martins got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot 79 in the game by Ediberto de Medeiros from a close distance when the talented Leonardo Rocha managed to make a qualified save. Criuva's players were relieved. Ediberto de Medeiros struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Leonardo Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paumaripe SC. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliseu Leite got free with Leonardo Rocha in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 89 minutes into the game, Norberto Martins cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ciro de Godoy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Norberto Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felipe Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro de Godoy having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Criuva fans cheered their team off the field, for while Paumaripe SC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
