Matheus Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matheus Cerezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardinho Velasco having to interfere. After 13 played minutes Guaraquecaba SS got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Lara. Agenor de Castro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Armindo Arantes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Raí Vinhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Armindo Arantes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Armindo Arantes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agenor de Castro in the 20th minute of the match. Maurinho Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raí Vinhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Armindo Arantes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guaraquecaba SS's Armindo Arantes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agenor de Castro in the 33rd minute of play. Raí Vinhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Armindo Arantes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Agenor de Castro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 61 minutes into the match, Biribeira's goal looked a bit too open when Matheus Cerezo came free, but Bernardinho Velasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernardinho Velasco made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Maurinho Leite sent off a good shot on target. Maurinho Leite struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Bernardinho Velasco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guaraquecaba SS. In the 66th minute, Biribeira's Ronaldinho de Azevedo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ronaldinho de Azevedo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Biribeira protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ronaldinho de Azevedo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 66 minutes into the game, one of Biribeira:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Guaraquecaba SS's Armindo Arantes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raí Vinhas in the 72nd minute of play. After 75 minutes Guaraquecaba SS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Robinho Massa who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Biribeira's Robinho Massa to fire away a dangerous shot which Armindo Arantes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Maurinho Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 83rd minute Matheus Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardinho Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matheus Cerezo in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernardinho Velasco saved Biribeira from getting behind. Bernardinho Velasco made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Maurinho Leite sent off a good shot on target. The Biribeira supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Guaraquecaba SS's performance. The match ended with a win for Guaraquecaba SS.
