Arlindo Gaúcho kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Wilson Eger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rafinha Carioca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vágner Mesquita, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Luciano Souto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Amauri Lima made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vágner Mesquita in the 40th minute of play forced Lorenz FC's goalkeeper Rafinha Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Gino Botelho fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marangua AD's protests and gave Gino Botelho a yellow card for diving instead. Gino Botelho kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Lauro Sabóia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Vágner Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Fausto Matorin fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lorenz FC's protests and gave Fausto Matorin a yellow card for diving instead. Vágner Mesquita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 62 minutes, Erivaldo Lara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lorenz FC and the Marangua AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Marangua AD booed when Lorenz FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erivaldo Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marangua AD were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after Lorenz FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Célio da Rocha took the corner. After taking down the ball on Marangua AD's corner Célio da Rocha fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rafinha Carioca quite easily take care of the ball. Luciano Souto's late challenge caught a Marangua AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luciano Souto helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th minute, Luciano Souto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lorenz FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Lorenz FC's zone, Vágner Mesquita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafinha Carioca came out of the goal and Vágner Mesquita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jarbas Recife had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vágner Mesquita in the 84th minute of play forced Lorenz FC's goalkeeper Rafinha Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute, Vágner Mesquita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rafinha Carioca. The goal made the score 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Wilson Eger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marangua AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilson Eger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafinha Carioca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
