Timbahuba SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonel Pimenta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Correia couldn't finish the play. 40 minutes into the match, Leonel Pimenta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lino Penha. Sarvuela SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonel Pimenta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Antônio Abraão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Lino Penha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Correia in the 56th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Timbahuba SC's Leonel Pimenta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lino Penha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lino Penha came out of the goal and Leonel Pimenta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 97th minute, Leonel Pimenta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Timbahuba SC had played much better football throughout.
