Leandro da Mata helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Almesquinha EC's Leandro da Mata got a free kick in the 3rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Túlio Maciel in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jânio Vidal saved Cocota from getting behind. In the 12th minute, Luís Fernando Massa made a precise shot to the right of Jânio Vidal. Cocota's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Almesquinha EC's zone, Elder Tinoco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victor Peixoto came out of the goal and Elder Tinoco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Nilson Luz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victor Peixoto was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. In the 21st minute, Belchior Pimenta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victor Peixoto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilson Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Almesquinha EC's Leandro da Mata got his second yellow card of the match in the 25th minute. The referee ordered Leandro da Mata off the ground. In the 25th match minute, Almesquinha EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leandro da Mata to maneuver through the defense. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thiago Arruda couldn't finish the play. Nilson Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Evaristo Coutinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Jânio Vidal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

A wasted opportunity for Almesquinha EC. 63 minutes into the match, Nilson Luz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Victor Peixoto, 1-2. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cocota's goalkeeper Jânio Vidal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
