Luizinho Rezende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilson Meirelles in the 3rd minute of the match. Wilton Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute, Pimentel FC's Wilton Quintal ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Edu Tasso. Edu Tasso yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. After having played for 27 minutes, Wilton Quintal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pimentel FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilton Quintal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edmundo Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 30th minute, Edmundo Magalhães got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 35th minute Ronaldo Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizinho Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute Adrianinho Sá shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edu Tasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kapiting SS's Gilson Meirelles got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 44 minutes into the game, Ronaldo Miranda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kapiting SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pimentel FC the free kick. In the 46th match minute, Pimentel FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Augusto Peres to maneuver through the defense. When Edinho Lago fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kapiting SS's protests and gave Edinho Lago a yellow card for diving instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ronaldo Miranda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kapiting SS were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Pimentel FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Elder da Fonseca took the corner. Ronaldo Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizinho Rezende having to interfere. Fábio Arruda hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Pimentel FC's zone, Gilson Meirelles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luizinho Rezende came out of the goal and Gilson Meirelles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 80th minute, Kapiting SS's Elder da Fonseca seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Elder da Fonseca the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Kapiting SS protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Elder da Fonseca had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of Kapiting SS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Pimentel FC:s goal. In the 82nd minute there was a penalty for Pimentel FC. Zacarias Cardoso stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Edu Tasso. 3-1. Edmundo Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Edu Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 90 minutes, Fábio Arruda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pimentel FC and the Kapiting SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th minute, Fábio Arruda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kapiting SS's Edu Tasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Magalhães in the 95th minute of play. A collision led to Kapiting SS getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Edinho Lago hit a great ball. Genílson Mumbach's late challenge caught a Pimentel FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Genílson Mumbach helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Kapiting SS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 98th minute. Penalty! Pimentel FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
