The Santelmo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gil Lopez should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Santelmo booed when Ivatuba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Custódio Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Santelmo's Tales Galvão sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nilson Lago narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gil Lopez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Eduardo Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 27 played minutes Ivatuba got a freekick which was hit by Custódio Baptista. Conrado Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Nilson Lago tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Conrado Miranda left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santelmo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 40 minutes into the match, Ivatuba's Jonas Luz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gil Lopez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Santelmo's Arí Lago got a free kick in the 41st minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Eduardo Veloso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Zacarias Vale fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santelmo's protests and gave Zacarias Vale a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Santelmo getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Zacarias Vale hit a great ball. Tales Galvão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nilson Lago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tales Galvão, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. When Jonas Luz came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Ivatuba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonas Luz couldn't finish the play. Luiz Eduardo Veloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Gil Lopez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Luiz Eduardo Veloso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ivatuba's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Eduardo Veloso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gil Lopez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ivatuba eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
