Jampruca's Charles Linares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmyr Magalhães in the 4th minute of play. Charles Linares was out of position in the 7 minute of play, and Arnaldo Mello capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Arnaldo Mello really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Charles Linares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arnaldo Mello's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Luiz Guilherme Saraiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Linares having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Hermínio Sá hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Jampruca's Charles Linares got control of the ball when Arnaldo Mello tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ramiro Quadros struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Paulinho Montenegro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jampruca. 31 minutes into the match, Aruti's goal looked a bit too open when Gonçalo Neiva came free, but Paulinho Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 31 played minutes Aruti got a freekick which was hit by Walmyr Magalhães. After 32 played minutes Jampruca got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Neiva. If Arnaldo Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the game, Jarbas Araújo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jampruca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aruti the free kick. In the 35th match minute, Jampruca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarbas Araújo to maneuver through the defense. Ramiro Quadros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Paulinho Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gonçalo Neiva struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Paulinho Montenegro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jampruca. Luiz Guilherme Saraiva was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 43rd minute. Aruti's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Guilherme Saraiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Charles Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaldo Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute, Arnaldo Mello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Charles Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme Saraiva in the 57th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Luiz Guilherme Saraiva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Charles Linares was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 65thth minute of the game Arnaldo Mello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jampruca's Charles Linares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gonçalo Neiva in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulinho Montenegro saved Aruti from getting behind. In the 71st minute, Gonçalo Neiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ramiro Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulinho Montenegro having to interfere. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Aruti.
