After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Tomás Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Matapiquara's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomás Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Humberto Melo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Ida's Artur Rodrigues slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Adalberto Marquez. That made the score 1-0 after 26 minutes of play. After 33 minutes Matapiquara's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cássio Esteves who took care of the corner kick. When Gabriel Araújo fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ida's protests and gave Gabriel Araújo a yellow card for diving instead. 44 minutes into the match, Narciso Duarte notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Matapiquara's Adalberto Marquez. Adalberto Marquez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Artur Rodrigues to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Artur Rodrigues made a precise shot to the right of Adalberto Marquez. Matapiquara's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. In the 59th match minute, Ida was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrique Amaral to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomás Montenegro got free with Humberto Melo in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Tomás Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Murilo Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Narciso Duarte hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ida's zone, Tomás Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Humberto Melo came out of the goal and Tomás Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Humberto Melo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomás Montenegro in the 78th minute. Henrique Amaral hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. When Tomás Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Matapiquara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomás Montenegro couldn't finish the play. Adalberto Marquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Narciso Duarte in the 85th minute of the match. Tomás Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ida's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
